WHAT IS MOCK TRIAL?

Mock Trial is competitive & fun!

Members of the UIC Mock Trial Team compete against teams from all over the nation. Competitions take place on various weekends throughout the year and are held throughout the nation. Weekend competitions are competitive and fun, but a dip in the hotel pool, team-building games, and team dinners also help make Mock Trial an unforgetale expereince. We also help each other grow as well as learn from each other so that we can bring the best to the competitions and win.

Learn practical skills for any field.

Mock Trial will help you learn and develop skills that are not only specific to the law, but that are practical in any field. Members of the UIC Mock Trial Team work hand in hand with coaches who are not only practicing attorneys in the Chicago-land area, but are also UIC alumni that have competed and have succeeded through the skills learned as past members of the UIC Mock Trial Team.

The UIC Mock Trial coaches help team members develop trial advocacy skills that build character, integrity, and confidence by improving team member's public speaking and critical thinking skills. Through their experience as practicing attorney they are able to teach team members how real attorneys litigate and how to tailor language to be more eloquent, effective, and simple. As a member of the UIC Mock Trial Team you will learn skills and concepts that are unlike any that you can learn in any other course and are invaluable in any field.

Be part of a special community.

As a member of the UIC Mock Trial Team you will build lifelong friendships and connections with fellow team members, as well as team members and coaches from around the nation. All of this while becoming eligible for three credit hours that can be used toward your degree.

Above all else, you will become part of a legacy, the legacy of the UIC Mock Trial Team that has been a growing and successful program for many years and has been nationally ranked for 21 consecutive years.
